This hands-on, guided workshop will cover:
The fundamentals of brush lettering technique
How to properly hold and control a brush pen
Understanding upstrokes vs. downstrokes
Writing and practicing lowercase letterforms
Connecting letters to create smooth, cohesive words
Practical ways to use brush lettering in everyday life
No experience is needed—this class is designed for total beginners.
Take-Home Project
At the end of class, you’ll create a brush-lettered bookmark using your new skills.
Each bookmark will be pre-cut, pre-punched, and finished with ribbon, making it a functional and meaningful keepsake you can use or gift.

Meet the Instructor
Hi, I’m Jairius, a Modesto-based calligrapher specializing in calligraphy, engraving hot foiling, and live personalization experiences. I’ve collaborated with wineries, retail brands, and event partners across Northern California, creating personalized details for weddings, brand activations, and in-person experiences.
In my workshops, I teach practical brush lettering techniques that students can confidently use for everyday projects like cards, place cards, envelopes, and event details—making lettering approachable, beginner-friendly, and immediately useful.
